Chap Of The Week

The first thing I do when I see Andy Neil on Late Night is switch over. I didn't tonight, mainly because I saw Barry McGuigan's ugly mush first. I shant bollock on, but as a fan of sane secular education models (Turkey, France, bend an ear....), I wish the 'Clones Cyclone' all the best as he helps the campaign to balance education in NI , in an attempt to steer teaching away from the self-interested grasp of both Protestant and Catholic churches. There is no 'solution' to sectarian hatred and dis-trust, but at least if there are people out there reducing the odds.....................

There is an unpleasant unctuousness about Late Night and it is on so bloody late, I often miss it, but I do enjoy some of the guests and features. Barry McGuigan was brilliant. When I was wee (west of Scotland) my best friend was Catholic, we were at separate primaries and secondaries (mine was non-denominational, though they sent us to church sometimes). We stayed friends all through school though lost touch in the end. Nothing to do with bigotry just the way life is.

I agree. Diane Abbot is about as unctious as it's possible to get. I much prefer old Portaloo. That squeezed sponge face and the hint of intellect does it for me.........

Andrew Neil is an egregious, smarmy twat though.

Until people grasp that practical learning and religion are about as compatable as Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts, then I feel old Bazzer will have to bang his head against the wall for a while yet.
