Break Out The Turkey Twizzlers Folks, Slobber Chops Has Fucked Off..................For Now

Hiya Everybody!!............ (Hiya Ill Man!!) My main concern tonight is food. Being a bit of a nosey old sod and a one time short order cook, i'd like to know what my readers had for their last evening meal. Why? Because like the aforementioned Mr Oliver I am concerned about your diet. Do you have a balanced and moderate diet? Are you a carbohydrate junkie? Do you eat nothing but protein? Do you automatically shove anything not meat coloured to the side of the plate? You might be a vegetarian....... Tonight for instance I found the secret to a half decent homemade, on-the-hoof curry. Some mixed curry pastes, a few nobs of butter, a wee bit of water and the obligatory sprinkling of ginger and Garam Massala all in a pan over some fried chicken. The final touch is some 'Imperial Red Rice'. Yummers! as Billy would say. So, whether it was pie and beans or something exotic like turkey escalopes and chips...................let me know. I'm keen to guage what my fellow blogger has for his or her tea. Also, if any of you have any exotic and ingenious home recipes for curries, soups etc, please feel free to share them. I will rip them off in front of assorted relatives and say I thought of them all on my own. I promise.

I had a packet of crisps and a can of coke, as I was still at work until 9.45pm. And then I had a can of beer when I got home to knock me out...

...just don't! You'll only sound like my mum!

First things first. What is that awful picture at the top, showing lots of potato wedges, large sausage thingies, beans, and a fried egg... is that the infamous "Full English Breakfast" I've heard about?

I can live with the sausage, the egg, and the fried potatoes, but the beans?! Take it away!

Also, the picture of the white heels at the end? I know there has to be some unifying factor somewhere, but I am at a loss to explain the pair of shoes.

Moving on then...

As you know, I work nights, so I don't have a regular diet. I drink WAY too much sugary soft drinks, and way too many carbs. But lately I have been paying more attention to what I eat, so for the past few weeks I've dined lighter than usual.

For dinner (I assume tea is Scottish for the last meal of the day?) I had a lovely Taco Salad from Wendys. I love how fast food places now have more healthy fair.

Last night I had an even tastier Mandarin Chicken Salad with a ginger/soy dressing and slivered almonds!

HEAVEN!

What are the shoes for? I'm a bit scared.

I had a cheese and onion sandwich.

Oh, I met my friends last night so I had a cheeseburger. I left my other half to his own devices in the house though, and it turns out his dinner consisted of a chicken and mushroom Pot Noodle and some vanilla ice cream.

Heya, Ill Man. White shoes after Labor Day? Tsk, tsk. Someone's sure to take offense at that.

Rob, how's it going? That, my man, is what the Brits dare to call "food." You should see the crap that Spouse Sparrow shoves down his gob. It turns me, it really does. And then he has the cojones to slag off Mexican food. As if! I may have to do a post about this.

As for me, I am a serious foodie that can no longer afford my habit, so I can only dream. Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, etc. I love them all, and I have rarely met a food I didn't like, other than British. I see now how the British managed to carve out an empire. Never mind the hearts of steel, they have stomachs of steel.

God, how I miss sashimi. I can close my eyes and taste the wasabi now. Heavenly, just heavenly. Pass the green tea and miso soup, will you? Some sake would not come amiss, either.

Maine lobster, with drawn butter. Steamed clams. Fresh swordfish, with dill butter. A thick filet, so fresh it's still mooing. New potatoes, sprinkled with fresh parsley and topped with sour cream. Moo Goo Gai Pan, with sticky rice. Shrimp cocktail. Fish tacos, from a little beach stand in Baja. Freshly made raviolis. Cracker crust pizza topped with roasted duck and peanuts. Flautas with freshly made guacamole. Caesar salad, with the dressing mixed fresh right at your table. A nice pinot grigio, or some syrah, Evian water, and mead during the desert course.

:::sobs:::

What I actually had for dinner was a veg burrito and a couple of tacos along with an ice tea with lemon from Baker's. :::shrugs::: Beats cooking, and it's in walking distance to the stores (we had to do shopping tonight). It was either that or Mickey D's.

Did I mention I miss sashimi? Why, oh why, have I not won the Lottery?

I had a felafel kebab with feta cheese and loved it.

But for some reason I'm embarrassed to admit it.

WAHHHHH! Not white bloody shoes!

Yeah, sorry. Couldn't resist it. That's two people i've repelled today. First I give Rob the boke with my fried breakfast shot then Leah's 'fuck me' pumps...........

A good range of diets there. Snacky stuff from Billy, Binty and Lism. Rob, Fat Sparrow and Flying Rodent going for the wholesome and slightly adventurous option.

Tonight I shall mainly be eating 'Cup Noodle'*

*Japanese Pot Noodle that goes for bugger all in Lidl.

Clairwil said...

Ah yes I'm familiar with cup noodle.

Why won't Leahs mum leave me alone? What does she want?

Move on and let the lunatics cluck away to themselves. Don't respond to anything they say, even on any new posts you do. If they're emailing you simply delete them as soon as they come through. Treat them like they don't exist. Which they don't.

C'mon, Leah and Robin Darbyshire? Surely someones idea of a joke...........?

Anyway, i'm putting another hero of comedy and light entertainment up tonight. Any suggestions?

Les Dawson although he was quality. Does Wogan count?

iLL Man said...

Wogan it is..........

You do Les.

first or second dinner? hehe. i had a ginger chicken and rice soup of my own creation, which is why i had to force myself to finish it off.

Clairwil said...

Hurrah for Wogan. I shall do Les. My brother ad I used to try and out do each other with our Les presenting Blankety Blank impressions. I'd like to say I won....then again.

iLL Man said...

Lex, that sounds...........Interesting. It either works or it don't I suppose. I've had a few of those. Still, it sounds like a good idea. can you give me a rough idea of what you put in it? I'm a total ginger fiend. Soup is my cookery speciality. I've never made a bad one.

iLL Man said...

both of them are Blankety Blank vets. Ok, so Terry got to carry one of those nifty 'mic on a stick' jobs but Les had the delivery and facial expressions Tel could only dream of......

Over to you......

lextc said...

let's see.. broth, chicken, grated ginger, black beans, rice and carrots.. oh and onions.

A bit late I know, but last night I had my homemade pot roast for dinner with yorkshire puddings, some mashed potatoes and sweetcorn. Mmmmmm yummers.

Those white shoes are terrifying, so terribly tacky.

iLL Man said...

Indeed they are Heather. It seems it's safe to make such observations here, I don't think Leah Darbyshire or her mental relatives bother with my little cubby hole.

i've been trying to return to last wednesday's repast. it was some kind of pasta i think. i've narrowed it down to those shell things - conchini perhaps? - or tagliatelli, with a slight leaning towards the shells. if so i think there were mushrooms with red and yellow peppers and crispy bacon bits mixed into a parsley and cheese sauce, but i can't be certain... how quickly we forget!

and how did you get hold of my shoes?

Ben said...

Lol, I came across that picture of sausage, egg, chips and beans while searching Google Images for a picture of Turkey Twizzlers!

I feel soooo hungry right now :/

Ben.

Hi Ben. Thanks for taking me back in time. I was a happy wee scamp back then, I can tell you. I have an appalling diet and make no excuses for it It suits my needs. Interesting stuff on yr blog though, the virus thing and cancer was food for thought. Pun intended.
