"Here's a bottle and an honest friend
What wad ye wish for mair, man?
Wha kens, before his life may end,
What his share may be o' care, man?
Then catch the moments as they fly,
And use them as ye ought, man;
Believe me, happiness is shy,
And comes no ay when sought, man!"
Robert Burns

R.B. knew something about life, I reckon.
Excellent.
Szelso Fa - Yeah, he had the right idea, the romantic old guttersnipe....;)
Sandra - Too right!!
Stephen - I love Burns. I'll admit the old Scots can get the better of me on the longer stuff but theres enough there that makes me smile or laugh or gives me goosebumps. I'm no poetry fiend, and in general it's not something that I often get much from but Burns just seems to hit me somewhere below the neck.
Oddly enough, I also love Bukowski's poetry. Another "Love It or Hate It" situation.
